Company Members of Swissmem have continuously reduced their consumption of energy since the nineties; above all, it has been possible to achieve savings in fossil energy sources during this period. The engineering, electrical and metal industry has clearly reduced its CO2 emissions more heavily than the law required at the same time.

Specific solutions in the sector
The engineering, electrical and metal industry is contributing to the solution of environmental and climate problems with its modern technologies. It is taking responsibility itself at the same time; for example, the sector has created a solution for the use of the SF6 climate gas, with the aim of avoiding it as far as possible in this context, under the leadership of Swissmem.
