Testing in companies

The Federal Council has expanded its testing strategy in its efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a key measure to enable the further relaxation of the restrictions currently in place. Companies are also being called on to get involved in the testing campaign, and can thus help to promote the health of their employees and of society as a whole. By regularly testing their employees they can prevent larger outbreaks of coronavirus and staff absences, and the quarantining of contact persons can be avoided.

The federal government or the cantons may cover the costs of the mass tests, subject to approval by the cantons. It should be noted that there are regional differences with regard to the criteria, processes and requirements for approval.

General information from the federal government

Cantonal offices

Companies wishing to carry out regular mass testing can obtain detailed information from the respective cantonal offices and require prior authorisation from the canton to cover the costs. The FOPH has drawn up a list, which is continually updated.

There are private providers that can help companies with the practical implementation of the testing strategy, from design and planning to execution. Please note that the assumption of costs by the canton must be clarified in advance in each case. (This list is continually updated.)
