Each year, Swissmem Industry Day focuses on a topic of particular importance to Switzerland’s tech industry and of major economic and political relevance to its future. In 2027, the event will once again be dedicated to a key current issue, addressing the industry’s main challenges and opportunities while placing them in a broader economic, political and societal context.

Between powers and markets strategies
SME agility, large-company power and small-state
On 23 June 2026, the Swiss tech industry met at the Congress Center Basel for the 19th Swissmem Industry Day. The event, entitled “Between powers and markets”, addressed the key question of how Switzerland can survive as a small country in a world that is increasingly being shaped by geopolitical tensions, global dependencies and economic uncertainty.
Around 1,300 guests from the fields of industry, business, politics and science made Industry Day a powerful industry forum. High-calibre keynote speeches, inspirational panels, a trenchant Oxford debate and numerous personal encounters once again showed that the Swiss tech industry lives off innovativeness, entrepreneurship and a strong network.
