The established platform for innovation in the Swiss tech industry is entering the eleventh round:
The R&D Conference 2026 provides a compact overview of current research and development activities at Swiss universities, research institutions and start-ups. The focus will be on practical innovations in production and manufacturing technology – from efficiency gains and new manufacturing approaches through digitalization, automation and the use of artificial intelligence to smart production systems, new materials and forward-looking processes

Contents

For the eleventh time, we will offer participants a compact overview of current and planned projects – thanks to the tried-and-tested format with short 5-minute pitches. The focus will be on activities in the field of digitalization, innovation and technology. 
 

In addition, the poster exhibition will enable a direct dialogue with the speakers and will provide valuable networking possibilities.

1.15 p.m.          START: Welcome by Swissmem and ETHZ

1.25 p.m.          Keynote speech by Prof. Markus Bambach, ETHZ

1.40 p.m.          5-minute pitches “The challenges of industry”

2.30 p.m.          Coffee/networking and poster exhibition

3.15 p.m.          Parallel sessions in different rooms

4.20 p.m.          Drinks reception and poster exhibition

5.50 p.m.          End of the event

For registrations received less than two weeks before the event there will be no reimbursement, however, a suitable substitute may be sent in consultation with the Swissmem headquarters/NEXT Industries.
