NETWORKING EVENT 12th R&D Conference

Turning Research into Industrial Applications: Scaling Innovation for Success

Which technologies will define the future of manufacturing? Which research projects show real potential for industrial implementation? And which emerging approaches should companies already be paying attention to today?

Many Innovations. | In a Nutshell. | Plenty of Inspiration.

Contents

The 12th R&D Conference brings together cutting-edge research, emerging technologies and industrial practice for the twelfth time. In 2027, the conference will once again be jointly organized by Swissmem, SATW and Swiss Engineering, in collaboration with Innosuisse and hosted by ETH Zurich. Swiss technology companies, universities, research institutions and startups will present current research activities and emerging industrial applications in a compact and practice-oriented format.

The conference covers a broad range of topics, from digitalization, automation and artificial intelligence to advanced manufacturing technologies, innovative materials, smart production systems, more efficient processes and novel technological approaches.

Many Innovations. In a Nutshell. Plenty of Inspiration.

The proven conference format is what makes the R&D Conference unique. Through 5-minute lightning pitches, participants gain a concise overview of a wide range of current and planned research and development projects, as well as emerging industrial needs. This enables attendees to discover new technologies, identify trends and explore promising opportunities for their own organizations within a short period of time.

Following the pitch sessions, participants can explore the topics in greater depth. The poster exhibition provides an opportunity to engage directly with speakers, learn more about individual projects and discuss potential applications for industry. Representatives of funding organizations will also be available to provide information on suitable funding opportunities and project financing.

The conference creates a platform for personal exchange between industry, research and startups, fostering new connections, fresh perspectives and perhaps even the next collaborative innovation.

A day for everyone who wants to understand what is being researched today and what will matter tomorrow for the Swiss tech industry.
